My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jeter was given his name because he is a sporty guy! He loves to walk, run, swim, play ball, play with toys, other dogs, romp around the yard, car rides and in general he happy to busy enjoying life! Having said all that Jeter is also a very loving, goofy doggie! He's a wiggling boy would has a quite flexible spine! When he sees you, his tag begins to thump, thump, thump and then swing in a helicopter motion. This is followed by his hind-end swaying back and forth practically touching his nose!! With a smile on your face you can't help but watch this and think that he embodies pure joy! And you'd be right!

Lest you think I am biased on this sweet, handsome boy, here are a few comments from our volunteers:

"Jeter made the most of today, as it was much cooler than the last time we walked. He was raring to go from the start. He started with giving me plenty of kisses and jumped right into my lap, as if to say: "here I am, now give me a hug!" Jeter walked rather well on the leash. We stopped and took a rest, and that is when I discovered that I forgot my collapsable dog dish. When I mentioned this to Jeter, he put me in my place right away for not trusting that he was smart enough to drink out of a bottle. Well, he did just that and seemed to enjoy showing me what a brainiac he is. He is so friendly and seems to enjoy introducing himself to "Pretty Ladies." He had two young ladies eating out of his paw in about 5 minutes. They fell in love with him the moment he started wagging his tail and wiggling his body in effort to capture their attention. They immediately came over and he showed them why he would make such a great companion. He did not jump on them, just rubbed his wiggly body and thumped his tail; along with a few kisses. He is so affectionate and craving your love in return!"

"Jeter is extremely affectionate and loves neck rubs, belly rubs, head rubs, ear rubs, etc. Be careful if you lay down on the floor with him because apparently that's his signal to go hog wild with the kisses and affection. He played with a rope and a rubber bone and was good with both toys. I thought Jeter was a real sweetheart and a very handsome boy. He is going to give lots of love to his new family!"

Jeter is looking for home with a family that likes to include him in their activities - hiking, walking, swimming, hanging out at soccer games, coffee shops and lounging on the sofa. Our active guy will need daily walks and plenty of snuggle time. If you are looking for a dog to bring a smile to your face every day Jeter fits that bill to a "T" and then some. Additionally Jeter is full of love and is eager to share it with his family! So if you're in the market for love and happiness, look no further, Jeter's the dog for you - www.azrescue.org.

Jeter weighed a mere 47.1 pounds when we saved him from the kill list.
