Pit Bulls present a special problem. Anyone who knows a typical Pit Bull or Staffie knows they are usually 50 pound packages of LOVE MUFFINS, with a tail of utter destruction, and kisses that know no bounds. You can drop a terrier in 1.2 seconds flat by scratching their little butts, and no where in their DNA has it clicked yet that they are not lap sized, they don't care. Unfortunately they have been so ostracized by the media & bad owners that it is our responsibility to bring them back from the dark. We need homes for them that have terrier experience, that aren't in an area that has Breed Specific Legislation, & that is ready for the work that even a temporary terrier can bring. All of our terriers will strive towards the "Canine Good Citizen Award" & they will be carefully screened before they ever come into rescue.

About Finally Home Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

So... What are we doing to make it better for homeless pets?

I go to pre-schools & day cares as often as possible with a pound pet & explain to kids, animals have feelings, you would be HORRIFIED at how many don't even know that!!! I tell them about fixing their pets, the importance of spaying neutering & about the dogs & cats no one wants that get sent to heaven when they were supposed to be here because their people didn't care for them.

I pull seniors & sick dogs from shelters, the general public, & even off of craigslist on occasion & adopt them out for the cost of vet care if I cant afford it or take the seniors down to retirement communities so the people can have a doggie that they can handle that hopefully won't outlive them & it increases their health by a thousand times over, they take their meds, get out for walks & socialize more & they make new friends who don't have doggies yet, or friends that do.

I foster for people in domestic violence, homeless or military situations so their families can stay together.

I round up dog food & donations & share with other rescues when I can

I do free shot, & dewormer clinics for low income & homeless people, & on occasion provide food donated from Local Pet Pro's or Mud Bays!

I go to the fields & orchards & try to educate the migrant workers about spays & neuters & give them shots & deworm the dogs, I also make myself available in case they are going to just leave the dogs which they usually do when the picking season is over

I provide flea treatments for free for anyone who asks for them.

I take the dogs no one wants which leaves room open at the shelters & in other rescues

I go beg pet stores for adoption fair space & then share it with other rescues so they have a spot to go to as well

I transport dogs from all over to other rescues to get them out of shelters

I help people find dogs that are realistic for their lifestyles & living situations

I help people with training their dogs & behavioral problems so that we can keep more dogs in their homes

I drive dogs & cats to spay & neuter appts & pick them up for low income or housebound people.

I do end of life & respite care, for senior & terminally ill dogs

I am one person but I work with many other rescues around the country, the Humane Societies in this state, Oregon, Idaho & Montana, & with lots of other animal advocates. We are just trying to help do what we can to save lives, we don't expect to get rich or even try to break even but our hearts are always full. We gladly take donations of any kind. Supplies, volunteers, Cash or gift cards are always needed! We previously operated with a business license, & are in good standing with the state, we are now a Non-Profit Corporation in the state of Washington... 501(c)3 to be coming soon!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are located in North King County, Wa but we can travel through the state, & have various animal events in the area, you can also take a look at our site here & see if we have an animal that you might be interested in! We don't have a brick & mortar shelter, we operate using our home & various foster homes throughout the state, but we are working towards getting a shelter of our own!

*** Don't forget if you run a daycare, or are a school teacher we do classes to educate youngsters on the importance of spaying, neutering, & proper dog care, the visits are always age appropriate & if you have kids with allergies we have pictures instead of pets we can bring!

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees vary depending on how much vetting the animal required but you will get copies of all medical records so no worries, we will support you through the lifetime of your animal with any questions or concerns you may have. We have a fairly long adoption contract which will be enforced to the fullest extent of the law, & even though it may seem long it is to ensure we find the perfect fit for you & for them.
