Rover's Story...
Rover is a super sweet, people and dog-friendly Shepherd-mix looking for a loving forever home to call his own. He is a young boy that is approximately 1 year old and is not very big, only weighing about 35 pounds. He is a total cuddle bug who is very affectionate and just wants to be close to you. He is good with other dogs big and small. He is not a very big boy and is only about knee high so would even be a good candidate for a home that has younger children. Rover likes to play ball, but is just as happy sitting on your lap getting some love. Rover would make a perfect addition to any home that is looking to add a loving dog to their family!

Rover is healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on preventative. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Rover, please contact Melia at melia88@comcast.net or Ray at colonelchisholm@sbcglobal.net or 847-639-6801 or 815-382-1169. His adoption donation of $200 benefits the rescued dogs of Lucky Dog Rescue. He is currently being kenneled and would love to be in a nurturing home environment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rover, a Chicago German Shepherd Dog/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Chicago, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
