This is Merlin. He arrived 2 Feb 2012 from a local shelter. He was found as a stray.
Merlin is a very sweet and sensitive little boy with a gentle and laid back personality. He is a great eater and loves his hay. Merlin is a great listener but be careful not to scold him with a loud voice as he will take it quite personally and become sad as a result.
Merlin is a big chewer and will need a bunny safe room to play in. He will chew on anything he can find so lots of great chew toys are a must for Merlin. However, Merlin is quite a smart little boy and can easily be redirected to one of his toys if he is chewing on something he shouldn’t be. He certainly wouldn’t want to offend or disappoint his family! His favourite chew toys are his apple branches and popsicle stick toys.
Merlin is litter train. He marks around his litter box in his foster home but this is only because he shares his play area with the family’s own rabbits (not at the same time!!).
Merlin LOVES to be pet. He is not big on being picked up or carried but loves attention and is very affectionate! He would make a great lap bunny. Merlin enjoys relaxing and all the comforts life has to offer!
Merlin is a very loyal and loving bunny. Are you the lucky person who will make Merlin’s dreams of a forever family come true?
Rescue Group Info...
New Moon Rabbit Rescue was formed in September 2006 with one main goal: to provide unwanted, abandoned, neglected, or abused domestic rabbits with a second chance at human love and appropriate care.
We are a "no-kill" organization dedicated to providing care for rescued domestic rabbits. All rabbits remain in foster homes until such time as they are adopted to loving, caring homes.
All of New Moon's rabbits are in foster care at this time. If you are interested in meeting a particular rabbit you must fill out an adoption application. Upon approval a meeting with the foster home will be arranged.
All rabbits that come into the care of New Moon Rabbit Rescue are spayed or neutered, health checked and if necessary, fully rehabilitated before adoption. Potential adopters are thoroughly screened to ensure that the rabbits will be entering safe and happy environments.
Every potential adopter must fill out an application, either online or by printing and filling out the PDF document. It can be faxed to 613-489-0487. You will receive a phone call within a few days to discuss your application. Please review our adoption contract, which you will required to sign upon picking up your new rabbit. Please note that all adopters must be approved before visiting the rabbits.
Our adoption policies state that we do not adopt to children, however we do adopt to families with children in which children may aid parents in caring for the rabbit. New Moon rabbits are adopted out as house pets only and are not to be housed outdoors. There will be NO exceptions to either of these strict policies.
Our adoption fees are $85 for a single rabbit and $130 for an already bonded pair. All adoption fees are non-refundable, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the rabbits of New Moon. We are wiling to adopt outside of our area, but you must be willing to pick up your new friend.
We serve Ottawa, Ontario and the surrounding areas of Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. We have on occasion adopted as far away as the US. All adopters must be willing to pick up their new friend(s)
