Ocee's Story...
Ocee “Dim Sum Dumpling” is a sweet, small affectionate cat. She loves to have the area by her tail scratched, and in response she goes into a mystical state of ecstasy, staring into space and raising her right paw! After being outside most of her life, she prefers a calm and defined environment. She loves to be in the vicinity of her person and will make a wonderful companion cat with plenty of love to give to that lucky someone who opens their heart and home to her. Dumpling has a few minor congenital problems – a slightly misformed mouth that gives her a permanent look of surprise! – and several toes that are a bit longer than the others. However, these issues do not affect her eating or walking, and they certainly don’t detract from her sweet uniqueness.

Petite-sized OCee would be a wonderful choice for somebody seeking a companionable, but not demanding, cat. OCee loves people, but is very polite. She loves to play with string things and catnip toys, and will contentedly watch the world outside her window. When she wants a lap she'll ask, but not demand. OCee is a pretty tiger girl, spayed, vaxed, neg/neg; she's seeking a forever home with some pleasant person or people, accessible window sills with a view, and a tin of food in the morning. She's just very sweet and a dear little girl!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ocee, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
