I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and not good with cats.
Princess is a special little girl. The vet says she is only about 4 years old, in good health. She weighs about 8 lbs. She has a bad under bite; because of her misshapen jaw, her bottom teeth are in two rows. So she sometimes looks like she is scowling when she is not. She has trouble eating hard kibble; her tongue sometimes seems to work backwards and pushes food out. Canned foods are a bit messy for her, so we feed her the “burger” type dog food, Moist and Meaty. But she does love to gnaw on rawhide chews and doggie bones from the pet store.
Princess was rescued from an abusive home, but her rescuer died of cancer just 3 months later. The woman's husband kept Princess but pretty much ignored her and kept in a bedroom for most of the next 9 months until he had to move into assisted living and the woman's sister came to her rescue and contacted me about Princess. She is still fearful of crowds and other dogs most of the time, but is not nearly as bad as she was. She is sweet and, once she gets to know you, likes to cuddle or just lay beside you on the couch. She is not a big kisser. She will not be one to insist on your undivided attention, like many Chis do.
She loves to play and to cuddle when given a chance without any other dogs around. When she plays, she really mouths your hand a lot and growls ferociously! When other dogs are around, she hides in her snuggle sack in the bathroom. She is mostly housebroken, as long as we are around to pay attention when she says she has to go out.
Princess needs a calm home with NO young kids or cats. No exception on this one. One other dog would be acceptable if it's a small, calm dog. Once in awhile, Princess will play with another dog for just a few minutes. Rambunctious dogs terrify her. She needs somebody with the patience to give her the time she needs to get to know you and to be comfortable with you, and you will be rewarded with a loving companion.
Her adoption fee is $200. Contact Marlene in Spanaway, WA at chiwowwow@yahoo.com or digsdogs@frontier.com for more information.

Rescue Group Info...
We are a group of volunteers that take in unwanted, abandoned or homeless Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. We take care of any Vet needs they may have and evaluate them as to temperament and likes and dislikes. We then match people to dogs and after completing our adoption process we send the dogs to their Forever Homes where they will be loved and valued as a family member.
We operate on donations and always have a need for things like leashes, harnesses, dishes, high quality dog food, beds, blankets and most importantly FOSTER HOMES!
***ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE***
We organized in 2005 and CR&R is registered as a non-profit charitable organization in Washington State & has Federal 501(c)(3) STATUS. We have successfully re-homed over 250 dogs!

Please contact each foster home where a dog lives that you are interested in to make an appointment to meet them. We participate in various events throughout the year where we show off our adoptable dogs.
Our adoption fees vary depending on the age and health of the dogs. We require that an adoption application be completed with at least two personal references and one Vet reference. We also do home checks to be sure the dog will go to a safe environment. Our Adoption Contract assures that the dogs will be cared for and if they cannot remain with the new family they MUST be returned to us.
