I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, and not good with kids.
Gucci was surrendered because he no longer fit in with his family. He was a “therapy” dog in his former home. He was a companion for a blind Great Dane. He led the Dane around and helped him avoid hazards when outside. He rarely left the Dane’s side. After the Dane died, he was lost because he no longer had a job to do.
Gucci is about 6 yrs. old, 5 lb., very timid. He is looking for a home that will let him be himself, not wanting a cuddler. His previous family rescued him from a home where he was severely abused. Gucci must have a fenced yard as he will run in fear if he gets loose. Five of us chased him all over Oak Harbor the day after we got him when he climbed out of an x-pen. Can be a fear biter. So far we have not had a problem with that. He pulls away when we reach for him, but we talk to him quietly and he lets us pick him up. He tolerates other dogs. He likes to be in the same room we are. He will follow us around the house but keeps his distance. Gucci is crate trained and goes into it for meals.
Gucci is neutered and up-to-date on shots.

We are a group of volunteers that take in unwanted, abandoned or homeless Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. We take care of any Vet needs they may have and evaluate them as to temperament and likes and dislikes. We then match people to dogs and after completing our adoption process we send the dogs to their Forever Homes where they will be loved and valued as a family member.
We operate on donations and always have a need for things like leashes, harnesses, dishes, high quality dog food, beds, blankets and most importantly FOSTER HOMES!

We organized in 2005 and CR&R is registered as a non-profit charitable organization in Washington State & has Federal 501(c)(3) STATUS. We have successfully re-homed over 250 dogs!

Please contact each foster home where a dog lives that you are interested in to make an appointment to meet them. We participate in various events throughout the year where we show off our adoptable dogs.
Our adoption fees vary depending on the age and health of the dogs. We require that an adoption application be completed with at least two personal references and one Vet reference. We also do home checks to be sure the dog will go to a safe environment. Our Adoption Contract assures that the dogs will be cared for and if they cannot remain with the new family they MUST be returned to us.
