My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

i there, Bradley beagle here.

My foster family says I am a wonderful, sweet, can be a snuggler, type of boy. See my video of one of my romps in the snow.

I am also a pretty shy/reactive type of guy. I put more trust in women then men. Foster mom and dad have been working hard with me, and I am getting better, but I still have my moments.

I am to the point where I will stand still and wait for foster dad to put my trailing lead on me if needed before I go outside. And lately, I have been coming in from the yard with foster dad standing by the door. Hey, I have learned there are treats involved for doing so! I love meal time, and I am the 1st one into the basement where the dog food is kept, at meal time. I am working on my dinner dance.

If you put me in your lap, or sit by me on the couch, ooooooh, you can pet me for as long as you want.

Foster dad says I crack him up. I will follow right behind him, and if he stops, I stop, but if he turns to look at me, I go the other way.

My needs in a new home would definitely need to include a 4 legged companion. I follow the lead of my foster sisters. If they go up to someone to be petted, I will follow them. And I like to lay by them on the couch. My foster sisters are helping me build my confidence and trust in people, and I will need a sibling in my new home to do the same thing for me.

It would be best if there weren’t any young kids in the house. My foster family thinks a busy, crazy type of household would keep me on edge.

I have a fenced yard here, and that would probably be best also. I have been out on a tie out a few times and did all right. But because of my reactive moments, you would have to be very, very careful putting me in and out of the house if you are using a tie out. Holding my collar still freaks me out some, which is the challenge on using a tie out.

I am crated during the day, and it doesn’t bother me. They are crating me at night also. I haven’t minded, so they have continued to do so. But a few times when us mutts gotten up early for some reason, and then went back to bed, they have left me out and I was good.

We have only been on short car rides, but I did fine. On walks, I am nervous, looking around, tail down, and I like to walk right next to you. But I am a beagle you know, and I am learning nose down, means new smells!!!

So if you have a 4 legged companion that needs a buddy, and are willing to be patient, and work with me, my foster family says they know I can blossom into a wonderful young boy.
