Vivian's Story...
Vivian was found wandering the streets alone in the 3rd Ward. She was very malnourished, which attributed to her Musculoskeletal Issues. She has recovered wonderfully, but this may need to be addressed again in the future. Her foster would describe her as “sort of oblivious sometimes, and naive, which makes her extra loveable.” Vivian’s foster sibling (a tiny Chihuahua) often steals her treat right out from under her nose and Vivian doesn’t always quite figure out how it has disappeared. She is a young girl, and needs lots of exercise and loves walks, but will let you know when she’s had enough by parking her butt wherever she’s ready to stop.  Vivian is working on some basic training, and has already learned “sit” and “leave it” and is on her way to become a very well behaved girl. She is a stunning girl and she’s ready to find her “one-of-a-kind” home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vivian, a Houston Basenji/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basenji/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Houston, or seeking a Basenji/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basenji/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Basenji/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
