Chewy's Story...
Well, someone must have been a Star Wars fan…we believe that Chewy was named after his Chewbacca coat, but “Spock” would have been a more fitting name with his adorable unique front paw. Chewy was actually deemed unadoptable because of this deformity and would most likely have been euthanized, according to a local shelter. His owner became very ill and was placed in the ICU. A good friend made a promise to find Chewy a good home, and FFL wants to help Chewy find a healthy, loving home. Chewy was born with this special paw, so this is “normal” to him. Chewy is just as active as any dog his age. He sometimes becomes intimidated by very loud noises, and tends to seek comfort with his human. Chewy is a young boy ready for a long life of love. It is our goal to insure that Chewy will “live long and prosper”…

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chewy, a Houston Border Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Terrier for sale in Houston, or seeking a Border Terrier dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Terrier breeders who help with Border Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
