Chica's Story...
Hi, my name is Chica. I came to Felines Inc. after my owner was admitted to the hospital and could no longer care for me. I'm a beautiful, front paw declawed Maine Coon who would love to get out of the cage and live with a family. Even though I'm around 11 years old (remember, cats can live up to 20 years, so I'm not that old!), I'm still quite playful (watch my video). But after I'm done playing, I like to just lie down and watch people. I'm especially content if those people occasionally scratch me on the head when I'm resting.

I am spayed, microchipped, and current on my vaccinations. I also tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia.

You can visit me at Petsmart on Golf Rd and Meacham Rd in Schaumburg, IL. Our adoption hours are on Wednesdays and Fridays from 6pm to 8pm, on Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 4pm, or by appointment.

If you have any questions about me or the adoption process, or would like to make an appointment to meet me, please email

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chica, a Schaumburg Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Schaumburg, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Schaumburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Schaumburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Schaumburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Schaumburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
