My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTED!!!

Kash male, neutered, vet checked, vaccinated to date, dewormed, 1yr, ~80lbs, Lab/Border Collie/Husky type mix.

Kash’s owner surrendered him due to “allergies” but we suspect it was more likely due to the fact that they were inexperienced first time owners not ready for a dog with Kash’s smarts and energy.

Kash is a very smart and energetic boy. He really needs to find a home with experienced and active people. Kash’s previous owner’s didn’t bother to let him interact with other dogs and so his foster home has been working on teaching Kash how to play with other dogs. He is learning to socialize with other dogs at the park and is coming along but still needs work on this, regular socializing with other respectful dogs will continue to help Kash get used to playing and learning proper “doggy etiquette”. Though Kash came from a home with cats we are finding he constantly pesters felines and is better suited to a home with not cats. Kash has grown up with small kids and being a large, strong dog that can sometimes be pushy we prefer a home with no small kids, teenagers or no children are a better fit. Kash is very active and needs at least a good hour of exercise each day, this guy would be a great pal for someone athletic like a daily (or bi-daily) jogger, avid hiker or biker. He loves his exercise and play time outdoors rain or shine and the more the better! Kash also LOOOOVES to swim (must be the Lab in him!), he takes to water like it’s his second home so if you’ve got a cottage or like to spend time down at the lakeshore Kash is sure to have a blast with you! This smart boy has all his basic training – sit, stay, heel etc. and has taken part in Bark Busters training. He also has life time training with Bark Busters which will be carried over to her new family! Kash is a fantastic dog, eager to learn more and do more with his new family. He bonds with his family and prefers not to be fussed over by strangers, Kash is patient with people he meets on the street and tends prefers to keep to himself and his person, he takes his time getting used to new people and strangers should let Kash come to them. This smart pup needs to find a dog savvy, experienced owner that is able to be patient with him while he settles in to his new home and figures out what is expected of him. Kash’s new owners will have the opportunity to meet with a Bark Busters trainer at a Meet & Greet with Kash so that you are able to be up to speed on the training techniques Kash is used to and what commands he knows and how to ask him correctly. This is a wonderful opportunity for any adopter as most times we aren’t sure exactly how to communicate with our new friend and this will help insure you are off to the best start possible with your new companion!

Kash needs an experienced owner with no small kids, no other pets and is best suited to a house with a fenced yard.
