MILI's Story...
TWINS, MILO and MILI -- Their Mom who, sadly, lost her house in a foreclosure last fall and had to turn them into a shelter in Longview, TX., told them her four year-old maltese terrier mixes were not just siblings, but "twins born in the same birth sac." To say "Mili" and "Milo" are inseparable is an understatement. When they sleep cuddled up together, on a big fleece blanket, they look like one big mass of cream-colored fur with big, brown, eyes, cute as baby seal cubs. They were so frightened and shy at the shelter, huddling together for dear life, they were going to be put down because they thought they were "unadoptable." A wonderful volunteer, their "Godmother Gloria" sent us photos of the twins and arranged for transportation. She drove them from Longview to Livingston, where someone picked them up and then, met us near the airport, shortly after Thanksgiving. It has been heartwarming to watch the twins blossom and slowly shed, not their fur, but their shyness. In fact, "Mili" and "Milo" have taken on the role of "guard dogs," and bark whenever someone enters the house. We always like our dogs to have another companion in their new, adoptive home, so if you do not have any dogs, you would have the added advantage of having two dogs already bonded to each other, and, as we always say," you'll have twice as much fun!" Come by and meet the twins, at the first market of 2012. Tuesday afternoon. Cannot imagine a nicer way to start off the New Year, than having these sweet little New Year "babies" in your life. Why Adoption is a Great Option

MILI, a Houston Maltese/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Houston, or seeking a Maltese/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Maltese/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
