Natalie's Story...

Large, gentle, friendly and affectionate with a down-home sweet charm that’s our Natalie! Since orange female tabby’s can be uncommon and she was so large we assumed she was a boy when she first arrived after being found abandoned in an attic but she didn’t hold it against us one bit. We honestly don’t think she’s got a mean bone in her body to hold any grudges. Natalie’s made herself at home here and enjoys napping on the cat patio window ledges, getting pets from visitors and eating lots of the yummy food provided. No counting calories for this girl, she’s under the impression that the bigger you are the more of you there is to love and in her case we agree! Natalie would love a fur-ever home that’s just the right amount of quiet for her calm disposition since she doesn’t seem to like too much hustle and bustle. You’ll love her pretty orange and white coat, full figure and kind face so call today to meet this gentle southern belle cat. She’s spayed, vaccinated, tested neg. for FeLuk/FIV and micro-chipped. 734 461-9458

About Friends of Michigan Animal Rescue

About Our Shelter...

FMAR is a non-profit 501(c)3 rescue for dogs and cats that started in April 2003 with the help and support of hundreds of wonderful people. Our mission is to protect animals and residents by promoting a healthy and safe enviornment for all. FMAR felt we needed to start in our own community helping our Animal Control facility find homes for the strays they pick up or are brought to them. On a rare occassion when we have extra space we do our best to help out neighboring communities too. We started in the family room of our home, adding kennels under and on the pool table and moving to the dining and livingroom. We grew by leaps and bounds, so we sold our home, bought a 61/2 acre farm and renovated the smaller of the 2 barns with 9 dog kennels and 5 unique cat kennels. Our first renovation allowed us to house a larger number of cats and dogs, but the need grew faster than our space would allow. We are amazed and saddened every day by the abundance of homeless pets and hoped to raise enough money to renovate our larger barn, but the need became so great we knew we had to find something smaller that we could better afford to renovate. We added on again but the space was still not enough. We found someone to donate another barn and had this barn moved to our property and renovated it as our new "Cat Haven".
Please visit our website at for more details on our growth and progress. We promise the best is yet to come!!

Our Adoption Process...

FMAR is an no-kill 501 C 3 tax-exempt all breed rescue, and like you, we are concerned about the welfare of the animals and the families that adopt them. We will require paperwork to be filled out and a consultation before an animal is adopted. Interaction with any other animals in your care is also required. We reserve the right to deny any adoption that we feel is not safe or comfortable for either the animal or potential adopter.
Our adoption costs vary, and include first set of vaccinations and spay/neuter. Cats and kittens start at $75 and dogs and puppies range from $100 - $175 depending on age, size and breed. We also offer micro chips at a very reasonable rate. For more information please send us an email at:
