My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"He needs our help!"

A very special Siberian was found wandering loose last week, starving and showing signs of neglect. He is missing his right eye, his left eye is infected and he is heartworm positive, but somehow he managed to find a very special lady who opened her arms to him and took him for much needed vet care. When we heard his story we knew he needed a second chance to be happy and loved. Transport is being arranged at this time to bring him to MaPaw. A special foster home has been set up for him as he will require extensive and costly medical procedures for the heartworm treatment as well as consult and options for his eyes. This small little boy is estimated to be only five years old. We have named him Jasper after another MaPaw one-eye beauty, Jasmine, who crossed the bridge last year and is greatly missed. We can't wait to meet Jasper and will have updates soon. Donations are being gratefully accepted towards his vet care.

UPDATE: Jasper came into rescue and captured our hearts. Our brave little sibe first had to put on some much needed weight and he then commenced the very taxing heartworm treatment. He is in recovery stages at this point, the most dangerous time. He is being closely monitored with very little activities.

April 14, 2007 - After a nght of coughing and difficulty breathing, Jasper's foster family rushed him to the University of Penn Vet Hospital where he has been admitted to Intensive Care. A cardiologist has been brought in and we are all anxiously awaiting test results and an EKG. Our brave trooper is hanging in and even making friends in the ICU. PLEASE SAY A PRAYER FOR JASPER AND SEND SIBE VIBES, He has come so far, we aren't about to let him down now!

Donations are sincerely appreciated for his rapidly mounting expenses.
