Sweet, shy little Mikaela has a very thick, very soft coat and a very distinctive white blaze or stripe on her face, as well as bright white bib and paws. She was found dumpster-diving with a group of kitties living in the bushes near the dumpster behind a restaurant. We think she was probably initially someone's indoor pet and either got lost or was turned out to become another stray foraging for food. She must have missed her family as she waited, hoping for a scrap of food and hiding from passing cars.
She likes to be up high; her favorite spot is the "bird bath" platform atop a 5 foot scratching post at her foster home. It's very cute how she likes to talk and chirp about her next meal (she has the cutest little squeaky meow!), and she likes to rub her head against you and demand to be petted - which she does sometimes, even though she's very timid. She's rather small, only about 7 or 8 pounds; and not likely to grow much bigger - we thought at first that she was a large kitten, but the vet estimated her as a young adult.
Surprisingly, she is toothless! She had a severe inflammation & infection in her mouth; which required the removal of all her teeth; however, you'd never know it! She eats both wet and dry food, often pulling it out of the bowl with her little paw.
Mikaela has been spayed, vaccinated, combo-tested - negative - for feline aids and leukemia, and micro-chipped. She'd love a new home of her own where she would never again have to hang around a dumpster for food or shelter!
