My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jacob is the latest member of the gang. He's a very, sweet, gentle, large boy. Unfortunately, he's got a couple of major issues going on with him. He's heartworm positive and he will need eye surgery soon after that. But then he will be 100% and ready to find his forever home. Any contributions to his cause will be greatly appreciated!

UPDATE 4/16/07: Jacob is a sweet and strong dog. The operation to fix his eyelids was a success and he also has undergone treatment for the heartworms. He will need to wear a "stylish" cone for about another week to make sure he does not pull the stitches out in his eyelids. In about one week, the stitches will come out and the eyelid problem will be 100% solved. He will still need a quite environment for a few weeks to recover from the heartworm treatment. Jacob is a very handsome, sweet yellow lab who has gone through a lot in this past week and still has a very high spirit. He will be perfectly recovered in a few weeks. If you would like to adopt or foster him in the meantime just complete the application. Don't let such a good dog sit at the vet's office. He deserves a good home.

UPDATE 4/24/07: Jacob eyes surgery was a big success. His stitches are coming out today and he is ready to go to a quiet home to recover from the heartworm treatment. Jacob needs a foster or a permanent home where he can be calm for a few more weeks. Don't let him stay at the vet any longer!

UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER MOM: He's great. Very laid back, just wants to be with people. He gets along great with our dogs but is much more interested in us. He knows sit & stay, & rides good in the car. He's gotten out of the fence twice but he just runs to the front door to get back in. He sleeps on the floor in our room - very sweet easy dog.
