Rusty's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Rusty's Story...
Meet Rusty, a 4 year old Red Tri Australian Shepherd male. Rusty is up to date on all his shots, and he is neutered and weighs around 45 pounds. Rusty is a retired working Aussie, he previously worked cattle, and was quite good at it, so he has a strong herd drive to him and is comfortable on a cattle farm or in a home.
Rusty loves human company, he is housebroken, and crate trained. Rusty is great with other dogs and walks good on a leash and is excellent in a car. He gets along well with other dogs, though he is slowly learning what life retired is all about, but Rusty is smart as a whip and catches on to life extremely fast.
Rusty even has taken on the newest chore, rustling up the kids for school, as he has decided if he can't work cattle, he will help his foster mom herd the kids to breakfast and then to school. Rusty has a great energy level, able to adjust to the situation as needed. Rusty is just an excellent Aussie!
Rusty the Aussie is currently being fostered in the Champaign Illinois area. If you would like to adopt Rusty, the retired cattle working Australian Shepherd, then complete an Application today to adopt this excellent Aussie. Reference ASRM 0069 Rusty.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a Washington Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Washington, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Washington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Washington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Washington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Washington paves the way for another one to be saved.
