Kat Von D's Story...
Hi Everyone!!
Thanks for giving me some attention!! My name is Kat Von D and I'm a 3 year old Corgi Mix. Just in case your wondering how I got my name, well, the manager at the shelter wanted to call me "cat". Well, I told her that I'm a dog, not a cat.... Then one of the volunteers said that my coat looks like someone put a tatoo on me and thats how I got my name, after the famous tatoo artist in California, Kat Von D. My primary colors are white with black specks all over and tan patches on face and ears. I'm a medium sized dog, I weigh around 27 lbs. I can't believe I just told you my weight. We lady's are supposed to keep that a secret :) I am housetrained and I walk great on a leash. I'm good around other dogs, cats, kids and even strangers. I love to be playful especially with my toys. I also love attention, give lots of hugs and to be cuddly. I am OK being in a crate but I really don't like being left alone, but I do realize that sometimes it can't be helped. I love to go for car rides and I am very good in the car. I behave when its time to be groomed but I must say, its not one of my favorite things to do. I would rather be playing. I do know some commands like sit, giving you my paw and to lay down. I used to sleep on the floor beside my owners bed. Oh, yea, I do have one bad habit. Well, some people see it as a bad habit and others don't but I really like to sit on the furniture. Hey, its comfortable.... not like the hard floor:)
I used to have a nice home but then my owner moved and the new landlord said that I couldn't stay. Sooooo now I need a new home and to find someone who will love me and open their homes and hearts to me furever. Hey.....Are you that person? Please call or come in and arrange a meeting with me, so we can be properly introduced and find out if I'm the right dog for you! Best of all, by adopting from Animal Friends of Westmoreland, you make it possible for them to rescue and care for another pet who truly needs help. So, what are you waiting for? Let's meet!! But first you should take a look at my pictures and see just how adorable I am.
I have been spayed and I'm up-to-date with my routine shots. Oh and I do have a microchip put in me so that if we do get lost from each other you will be able to find me :)
Well, there is so much more I could say about myself, but you'd just have to meet me in person to believe it! I really don't need a lot, just a person to love me and a lap to lay my head on. SOooooooo if you do have room in your heart and home for such a wonderful young lady like me, contact the people at the shelter and they can arrange a time for us to meet!!
I live in Youngwood, Pa. at the shelter so why don't you stop in and see me. I SO..... would love to have my "VERY OWN FOREVER HOME AGAIN."
You can see some other adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. BUT please find me first? OK?
All adoption fees include spaying, chip and up-to-date vaccinations.
I HOPE to meet you really soon. Kat Von D!!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kat Von D, a Youngwood Corgi dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Corgi for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Corgi dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Corgi breeders who help with Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
