Mrs. Peabody's Info...

I am already spayed, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and good with cats.

Mrs. Peabody's Story...
Mrs. Peabody has been at our shelter for about 8 ½ years. She is listed as "special needs" because she has not had a lot of interaction with people until recently. Over the past year I have had consistent contact with Mrs. Peabody and she has really come around. She loves to be pet and brushed. When you stop she will often rub up against you to let you know she wants more. I can even pick her up briefly. If she is adopted she will need a patient person to help her get comfortable with her new surroundings and her new humans. Check out her video.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mrs. Peabody, a Oyster Bay Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Oyster Bay, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Oyster Bay.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oyster Bay already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oyster Bay breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oyster Bay paves the way for another one to be saved.
