Facts about Andrew

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Gray, Blue Or Silver Tabby
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
Born in 2010, Andrew is a handsome grey tabby with gorgeous yellow eyes. He is shy with strangers, but will warm up once he gets to know you. If you sit on the floor he will crawl in your lap, but he isn't fond of being picked up. Andrew has a mischievous side so extra cat-proofing is a must with this guy, and he cannot play with toys unsupervised, as he has been known to try to devour them...yikes! Andrew is a sweet fellow and will do well with an experienced cat owner.

We really appreciate your wanting to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. Our Vladimir Horowitz & Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site hospital and staff of skilled veterinarians/surgeons look after the health and well-being of every animal here. We offer FREE vet care for the first 3 weeks after adoption. We also have a great adoption matchmaker who will gladly take your profile and match you (or you and your pet) with just the right cat or dog companion. Please feel free to submit your application!

Won't you please sponsor this pet? Click the button above. You can give as much or as little as you like. Your donation is tax deductible. Thank you and our furry ones thank you. Each and every animal here is very special to us. We are dedicated to finding each one just the right home. So for some cats and dogs, that means a much longer stay - as sometimes they are not as outgoing, pretty or have as perfect manners as they could. And because we don't "dispose" of them for this, our cost for keeping them healthy and becoming better companions is high.

Our Adoption Process...

The Humane Society of New York does not do "same-day" adoptions. While meeting and interviewing with our adoption director, we will begin the process to see if we have the right pet to match your lifestyle, preferences and personality.
