Darla is a wonderful, sweet dog that is so deserving of a loving home to call her own. She was rescued from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter where she was scheduled to die due to: No other rescue organization wanted a six-year-old matted dog that needed serious grooming. But the shelter saw Darla’s sweet nature and reached out; so we gave her a chance and went to save her.
Darla has had a full dental cleaning (under anesthesia) and her teeth are fantastic, you won’t believe how white they are now. She has been groomed, and what a pretty girl she is! Finally, after being checked by two vets, the consensus is that Darla may be as young as age six, but possibly, she is age eight tops (but no older) with plenty more life to live since Poodles can live to be sixteen or seventeen years of age. Since Darla is a pure-bred Poodle, she is completely HYPOALLERGENIC, as well as low shedding, which is a huge plus!
Darla has had a thorough vet check and she is a healthy, happy dog. Weighing around 17 lbs., which is the standard weight of a Miniature Poodle (not a toy Poodle) she is sweet, obedient, quiet (I have never heard her bark once), happy, and comical too. She makes me laugh out loud several times a day due to: She snorts in this over-the-top cute fashion (just here and there), she bounces around very happily when she sees you or gets to come back inside (mouth open, and tongue flapping out), she has this cute waddle walk – put it this way, she just has a great personality and we are hoping that someone out there can see past that she is not age two or three but a bit older and will want to meet her and possibly give her a home.
Darla is very dog friendly and loves all humans, including older children, and most likely is fine with younger children too. She does not need to be in the company of other dogs, being that she really wants to be with and attach to her human, as is typical of all Poodles. Darla has been (by obvious observation) an indoor dog and does best when allowed to be inside the house once she is done doing her business outdoors. She does not necessarily need to be constantly by your side; but just in the house. (She is often found laying on top of the back of the couch, like a cat, but in an entirely different room from where I am – it seems to be one of her favorite spots.)
Darla is housebroken, spayed, vaccinated including rabies, and micro-chipped.
