Elijah is adoptable but only with the full knowledge that he does have beginning stage kidney issues. He might live 3 months, 6 months or 2 years but according to the vets the 2 yr. span is probably the most optimistic. He is an extraordinary dog…..very loving, playful, and sweet. He is adored at our home and if someone will love him and care for him as we do, he would bring happiness to them….

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elijah, a Gainesville Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei for sale in Gainesville, or seeking a Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Gainesville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gainesville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gainesville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei breeders who help with Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gainesville paves the way for another one to be saved.
