Wanda's Story...
Sweet, but still shy Wanda needs a special person who can give her the extra attention she needs to help her "come out of her shell". She's so quiet and unassuming, you'll hardly know she's around. But hold her (she's only a few lbs.), let her sit with you or on your lap and just be there for her, and you'll have a wonderful little dog who is devoted to you. She needs time and TLC to overcome her timidness. You will reap the rewards of your love and patience with a sweetie of a dog, and she'll get the life she's been waiting for. She needs a gentle, kind person with a very warm home (she hates the cold, wants nothing to do with it!) and also a home without larger dogs or young children- but cats are fine. If this describes the life you can give her, please fill out an application at our site: www.PeisandStrays.com. Wanda is waiting for you! She is spayed and up to date on vaccines.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wanda, a Newport Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Newport, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Newport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport paves the way for another one to be saved.
