Tommy's Story...
Tommy is a handsome Nanday Conure. He arrived at the rescue very feather picked. The vet diagnosed an infection, which was treated. We are very hopeful that his feathers will regrow.

Tommy is uncommonly gentle. He gets along very well with other birds too. He is tame and loves to spend time with humans. His favorite place is on your shoulder. He is anxious to have a chance to meet you and become a part of your family.

Arnie's approximate hatch date is 1999, and his adoption fee is $125.

For information on some of the characteristics of this bird, see this Species Profile page:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tommy, a St. Louis Conure was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Conure for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Conure from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Conure breeders who help with Conure rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
