My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is sweet Bambi. I do not know if they come any more loving than Bambi. She will snuggle with a complete stranger. She is a doll! She arrived on Feb. 24th weighing in at 25 pounds big. Bambi is a year old. She is tan/yellow/fawn in color, with short legs and beautiful loving eyes that melt your heart! She enjoys a good belly rub or back scratch. She LOVES to snuggle with you too. She lets you know when she has to go outside to do her business. Bambi gets along great with other dogs of any size even though she stands shorter than your knees. Bambi does well on her leash and is quite interested in exploring her new foster home. She does not seem to mind the crate so far. However, we do not even think she needs one. She does not try to chew or destroy anything. She truly is nothing but a sweet, wonderful, lap dog kind of girl. We LOVE her! We will update this site as we get to know Bambi better. UPDATE: What an amazingly loving dog!! Bambi has all the characteristics people typically look for: confident, playful, good with children, great with other dogs, quiet, loving and housebroken!! When I picked her up and met her for the first time, she was not shy at all. She was eager to make a new friend and walked out with me with no hesitation. She walked up to my car and jumped right in when I opened the door. She sat nicely in the passenger seat without a peep. When we got home she explored every nook and cranny of the house and immediately made herself comfortable. She keeps herself busy with play or rest while we get some household chores done, and quickly jumps into play mode when we show she's got our attention. So far, we found Bambi knows the "sit" and "come" commands. She is definitely housebroken and will let you know when she needs to go out. She walks very well on a leash and is eager to explore. She loves being outside and going on long walks. She plays very well with her foster brothers and size does NOT intimidate her! Bambi had some bonding time with my 3 children (ages 3, 7 & 11) and will follow them from room to room until they settle and then she sits right next to them while they play together. She is a kid friendly dog. She loves kids. When I take my own rest time on the couch, she will jump up and settle down close (sometimes even right on my lap) for some cuddle time. She loves to sprawl herself out for a nice belly rub and will even share some kisses. She did sleep in her crate last night, but I don't think she needs it. She woke at 7:30 am and went right outside to do her business. She's fitting in just great here and will make a wonderful addition in a new forever home! You will be one lucky person to have this girl in your life!
UPDATE: She really loves to be outside and walk. We do not jog or hike but I think Bambi would love it as much as she loves her walks. She has her moments where she wants to be a lap dog, but she really loves to be outside too. She'll go to my back door when she needs to potty, but when she wants out for a walk, she goes to the front door. She also loves to get in the car. Most times when we head out, she goes right to the car and sits by the door waiting to be let in. If you are interested in adopting this sweet little gal of ours, please be sure to complete and submit an application for adoption. Please note, by friending Sheryl's Den on Facebook you can see many more photos of Bambi. Bambi has been spayed, distemper/parvo combo shot, rabie shot, dewormed, etc.

This animal is currently fostered in a private home. Our rescue is 100% foster home based. We do not have a shelter or kennel. They are cared for by a loving family until adopted. Each pup has had their first vet exam, a shot, and de-worming, etc We make sure they have no fleas prior to going into our foster homes. They are fostered out of the shelter at least two weeks or more prior to adopting to monitor health. We take their care seriously!

Please note that the adoption appointments will be scheduled for the evening of March 9th or the morning of March 10th. The date depends upon the foster homes schedule. After your application is approved, we will contact you and arrange for you to meet on that date. Once adopted, feel free to change the dog's name. You do not have to keep the name listed in this post.

#####PLEASE BE SURE YOUR APPLICATION IS COMPLETE OR IT WILL NOT BE PROCESSED. PLEASE BE SURE TO LIST THE NAME AND NUMBER OF THE VET'S OFFICE THAT CARED FOR YOUR PRIOR OR CURRENT PET. #####
