Forrest's Story...
This wonderful dog is Forrest. He is in the Shelby County Animal Shelter (aka dog pound). If you meet him you will know instantly why I'm trying so desperately to get the word out about him. He's very docile and has the BEST temperament. He has demonstrated to the shelter staff that he even knows a few commands such as sitting and shaking your hand. He also loves to give doggy "hugs".

He is very laid back. No jumping all over the place or irritating barking. He is a German Shepherd mix and was brought in as a stray. I'm shocked that no one has came forward to claim this wonderful creature. If only he could talk, I bet his story would break our hearts.

As you can see from the one picture, he has the sweetest expression on his face. When I was taking the pictures he kept nudging his cold nose against my hand wanting me to pet him.

Please call the shelter ASAP to save Forrest!!! 502-633-0009

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Forrest, a Shelbyville Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Shelbyville, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Shelbyville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shelbyville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shelbyville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shelbyville paves the way for another one to be saved.
