My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lillee! Lillee is a very sweet 8 month old basset who has had a rough start at life! Miss Lillee has a condition in her front legs where one of her leg bones has stopped growing. She can manage to get around now with a limp, but the disease is progressing and her only hope is orthopedic surgery on both legs. Without the surgery, she will lose complete use of both her front legs. Lillee is quite the trooper and manages to play with her basset foster siblings and hates to have to take breaks all the time to rest her legs. She is ready to walk without pain and says she will be a brave girl and is ready for her surgery! We have every hope that after the surgery, Lillee will enjoy pain-free use of all her legs and after some recuperation, will be ready for her forever home!

Lillie is currently loving her new life with her foster basset brother and sister and 2 two-legged foster sisters (ages 3 and 5). She is an affectionate little girl with lots of love to give. She is very good with young children, other dogs, men and women. She has shown no aggressions at all in her foster home. She is very submissive and gentle, but she is a puppy and LOVES to play! She enjoys chewing whatever she can find, so toys are a must! She is working on the house-training thing, but sometimes she forgets and walking in a leash is new for her as well. But she is a quick learner and wants to please.

She is also a very quiet dog, only barking when she decides she is ready to play! She is a good girl and truly deserving of her second chance and of finding her forever home.
