Cody's Story...
Meet Cody! He is an 8 month old Rottweiler mix who is an absolute sweetheart. He was found as a stray, so not much is known about his past; but we do know his future looks very bright! Cody has a very laid-back temperament, and easily adapts to new people, places, and things. He is a happy, social, and well-adjusted “little” guy. He already knows how to sit, lay down, shake, and take treats nicely. Cody will go into his crate with a treat, and then you won't hear a peep out of him. He is still very much a puppy, so Cody will be working on some additional obedience, like “come,” “stay” and walking politely on a leash. Future obedience training and maintenance with his forever family would be highly recommended given his breed and energy level. At 70 pounds already, Cody is going to be a big boy and manners are important.

Cody currently lives another large male dog, and they are best buds. They run and play for hours. Because of this, Cody would do best in a home with another dog he can play with, or with an active family who will channel his energy in a positive way. A bored puppy is a naughty puppy! Cody loves playing with toys, especially bones, and has not shown any interest in chewing on inappropriate things.

We do not know how Cody is around cats or small children yet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cody, a Rochester/Buffalo Rottweiler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rottweiler for sale in Rochester/Buffalo, or seeking a Rottweiler dog from a breeder in Rochester/Buffalo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rochester/Buffalo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rochester/Buffalo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rottweiler breeders who help with Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rochester/Buffalo paves the way for another one to be saved.
