Skyler's Story...
Updated March 18th: Hi. My name is Skyler Scamper:)) I am about 10 pounds and 10-11 weeks old. I am in love with tummy rubs. I like toys, balls, and get along very well with the resident dogs, and kitties in my foster home. I am a puppy after all, and my favorite thing to do is to grab my foster moms slippers while she is small children who are not use to puppy behavior would not be a good home for me. I am very sweet, very laid back, with a fabulous personality. My mom was a beautiful purebred border collie and dad was a traveling salesman. I don't think I have many border collie traits, but whatever my mix I will make a fabulous addition to your family.

Skyler came to Angels on Wheels from death row at a high kill shelter in Southern Illinois. What? This beautiful girl was at a high kill shelter? Lucky for Skyler and her siblings, Rosie and scamper who have now been adopted, we noticed them and instantly saved them and brought scamper and his siblings to a foster home in Downers Grove where he has all the love, warmth, food, and comfort she needs. If your adoption application is submitted and approved, Downers Grove is where you would go to meet this fabulous puppy.

Skyler is happy, for now...but his journey isn't quite over. Skyler needs a furever home. Skyler needs YOU! Do you have room in your heart and home for an energetci, happy, loving snuggle bug!?! Skyler is ready and waiting. She will make an awesome family pet to anyone lucky enough to have her.

Wanna add this sweet girl to your family and give him a chance at a loving life? Go to the website to download an adoption application or email and we would be happy to send you an application. PLEASE check and make sure your application is complete before submitting it. Upon approval, you will go to her foster home in Downers Grove to meet this beautiful baby.

The adoption fee of $250.00 includes: Spay/neuter (when old enough, but paid for by us through one of our partnering vets, microchipped, up to date for Distemper-Adenovirus-Parainfluenza-Parvo (she's had 3 vaccinations already), dewormed with panacur, given albon and metronidazole as preventions, treated with Revolution for the prevention fleas and mites and mange . You will also receive a leash and collar, a free office visit to Crest Hill Cat and Dog Clinic, Yorkville Animal Hospital, Midwest Animal Hospital in Orland Park or Wheaton Animal Hospital, a training dvd, and tons of coupons for Petco.

The adoption also comes with a free puppy/doggy class through Flydogs located at Central Bark Doggie Day Care in Oswego, which introduces you to housebreaking, name recognition, crate training, sit/stay and leash walking. This is one free class you really don't want to miss, and 10% off purchase of a 10-day care package for dogs attending Central Bark Doggy Day Care in Oswego.

Please note that we are a foster based rescue and do not have a facility, which means all of our animals are cared for in homes of wonderful people who have volunteered their time to help save them. Again, all breeds and sizes at maturity are best guesses.

Thank you for looking at our rescued animals and wanting to give them a wonderful home

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skyler, a Naperville Labrador Retriever/Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie for sale in Naperville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie puppy from a breeder in Naperville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Naperville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Naperville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Border Collie breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Naperville paves the way for another one to be saved.
