Hi there kind people! I’m Bella and I have been described as a gorgeous, brown-eyed beauty perfectly matching my name! I am a bit overwhelmed by that description because I am a modest, sensitive little girl. However, it is nice to think that it is true (tee hee)!
I am a 49 pound, 1 year old Australian Shepherd mix. I am a little timid at first and initially I am more comfortable with women than men. However, I warm up very quickly once I know you humans are friendly and I am very affectionate.
I enjoy the company of other dogs and I did well in doggy day care where I made many good friends. My family had to relinquish me to MaxFund because their older dog (over 9 years old) just did not want me in their family. Because of that I have learned to be quite defensive around aggressive dogs.
I am housetrained and I have had formal dog obedience classes too. I “sit” well but have to admit that I need a bit more practice with “heel.” Taking me to positive reinforcement training classes would also help me overcome my timidity toward strangers.
I very much enjoy toys, especially Kongs filled with something yummy! I have lots of energy and very much enjoy walks. I also think I would like to go hiking. There is no problem taking me anywhere because I am fine with car rides – I just go to sleep (so I have lots of energy when we get where we are going – ha ha!). Agility sessions may be fun too!
