Hi, I’m Uma, a very loving, gentle and inquisitive cattle dog mix. I was brought to MaxFund by some Good Samaritans who realized I was left in a park all by my lonesome so little is known of my past, but I am a sweet girl who gets along with everyone, and I am doing very well in my foster home, where I live with a rambunctious young pup and two old cats.
My name is a Hindi word that means "light, peace," and I am a beam of peaceful light. I am very inquisitive and I sometimes get a little fearful of new situations or loud noises. My temperament is soft so I would appreciate a forever home where I will get lots of positive reinforcement, love and quiet solitude. While I do get along with other animals, I think I would enjoy being the only source of your love and affections, or would enjoy being with other animals who have a more laid-back outlook on life.
Right now I am working on losing a little weight and improving my health. My legs are a bit arthritic so I am on supplements and Rimadyl, which I take very easily. I love laying around the house but I do go for nice walks and do very well on a loose leash alongside my foster brother. I know basic commands and would make a perfect companion for anyone! I am very food motivated so I’m sure I’d do well with even more training. It might be fun to learn a few new tricks!
