Dixie(female) 3-4 MONTH OLD CHOCOLATE LAB MIX – RESCUED AFTER BEING ABANDONED – SWEET AND SMART
CONTACT: 318-393-2927 or email cariebear01@yahoo.com
Hi! My name is Dixie and I am a female, 3-4 ? month old chocolate lab mix. I am calm for a puppy, intelligent, quick learner, playful and so stinking cute.. I weigh about 30 pounds and am working on being housetrained and have so far have done pretty well, not fixed, and not up-to-date on my shots. If you're looking for a great dog, look no further because I know you'll be pleased with me! Unfortunately, I have to find a new home because I don't have one and my last owners abandoned me. My foster mom works long hours and she would love to see me in a home where I can get lots of attention.. If you would like to meet me, please call Carrie at 318-393-2927 or email me at cariebear01@yahoo.com. There is a screening process to adopt me and my adoption fee is a suggested donation to Pet Savers of $30 for their help in rehoming me and to help assure I go to a good home. Once you adopt me, PLEASE get me spayed/neutered to help control the HUGE overpopulation and euthanasia rate in this area. Robinson's Rescue low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinic (Shreveport) offers special low-cost pricing for spaying and neutering. Call 318-861-0101 for your spay/neuter appointment ONLY, not about me! Also, be sure to keep me on a monthly heartworm preventive. Dogs get heartworms from mosquitoes and the only way to protect me is with a monthly preventive that you get from your vet!

IMPORTANT NOTES: Unless otherwise indicated, this animal is in the SHREVEPORT/BOSSIER, LOUISIANA (or surrounding) area.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Haughton Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Haughton, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Haughton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Haughton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Haughton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Haughton paves the way for another one to be saved.
