My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trek-a-Roo was a little lost puppy wandering down our street about to be snatched up by some strangers driving down the road. My husband saw a car stop and try to catch him. They took his collar off and he got away from them. He came running across the street and my husband picked him up. He is named Trek because of the long journey he was about to go on and Roo, because of his long hind legs like a kangaroo. Trek was covered in bite wounds, some old and some new. He brought a respiratory infection along with him and some of my other dogs came down with it. Everyone was put on antibiotics.Trek also came down with parvo even after his vaccine. He was a very sick little puppy. We were very worried about him for awhile. After about $1000.00 worth of treatments he is fine. Out of all the years I have been saving dogs, Trek is the first to have been treated so badly at such a young age. It was obvious that they were training him to fight. He was barely 6 weeks old when we got him and even being sick like he was, he had this mean streak that I have never seen before in a puppy. It was just awful. I can imagine the way they teased him to make him bark in his crate and bite. How he must have felt when the other dogs were made to bite him. Poor thing. Trek will be a year old this May. He is not the same dog as he was when he came to me. He is very loving and sweet. Wants to be someones lap dog and loves to play with his toys. He sits in his crate quitely and waits his turn. He will bark at other dogs but only while he is pinned in his crate. That stops with treats. We are still trying to get him to stop pulling on his leash. Trek does tricks for treats and makes a wonderful house dog he is just a big goofball.
