My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cat-Tales Rescue has decided to keep Heidi- as her shy nature means she'll need some special TLC and is very used to us.

Heidi's Cat-Tale: Heidi was rescued March 7th from the north/west side of town.. where no food, water, or shelter was available. She had no home and was very pregnant. She was getting scraps from a kind family in the housing development, but it was a dangerous place at night. She had 4 kittens born on March 11, 2007. She had 2 male [orange one named Charlie, Black one named CoCo] and 2 female - already adopted [both Tortoiseshells are adopted]. All kittens are short haired.

Heidi is about 24 months old. She is scheduled for spay and vaccination the first week of June. Heidi tested FIV/FeLV negative. She is dewormed and treated for earmites. She is very sweet always seeking out someone to pet her. She would do well in a QUIET home - it seems that being a homeless kitty makes her startle at sudden noises and movements. She just needs someone to love her. If only she could tell us the things she experienced up on the NorthSide of town....I believe we'd marvel at her survival skills.
At Cat-Tales Rescue we offer the option of Microchipping your cat, if not already done so [we've just started to do this this summer and have it done when they are spaye/neutered. We always take the cat back. It may be one year, three years or ten years down the road... we want the cat to have a home. Whether it be due to moving, allergies or something else. We're in it for the cats. We offer a discount if adopting a pair of kittens/cats...it is $10 off each adoption fee. Each cat[under 3 yrs of age] or kitten is $75 to adopt. It is $65/cat [under 3 yrs of age] or kitten if a pair is adopted at the same time. All of our animals are tested for FIV/FeLV [if they are kittens the mom is tested and we strongly suggest the new owners have them tested when they are 6 months of age, as a guideline for the cats health]. All are spay/neutered, vaccinated [if adopted before the age at which their rabies vaccine can be given (3-4 months of age) it is the owners responsibility to get them their vaccine]. We also treat them for earmites, roundworms/hookworms and if necessary protozoa and giardia. We give you all the baby photos we have. We also give you their favorite toys and some catnip. We have lots of information available in handouts if there is a subject that you have questions about [we use very well known internet sites on cat care]. We are always available should any questions arise. We offer cedar scratching posts that all of our cats use, we also have nail clippers that are at our cost. Trimming a kittens nails when they are falling asleep is the best time. It is just a matter of getting them into the habit a couple times/month of having it done.
