Mickey's Story...
Mickey is striking. He is a handsome schnauzer boy, with a rare white and black parti coloring. Mickey was rescued from a hoarder, so he is still getting used to living in a home, and trusting humans. But he is adjusting very well. Mickey is affectionate, and loves attention. He is calm, mature, and would like nothing better than snuggling up to you while watching TV. Although he is slower to warm up to men, he is even watching TV with his foster Dad. Mickey likes walks on the leash, is house trained and doggy door trained, and gets along well with adults and older children (enjoys watching cartoons with an 8 year old), as well as other dogs and cats. Mickey would be a great companion for mature people, and is independent so could be an only dog. He is missing most of his teeth, but eats and takes treats just fine.

Mickey weighs 16 lbs, is parti in color and 7 years young. Mickey is currently fostered by Scottie and family in Richfield, OH. Mickey's adoption fee is $250 it includes a written veterinary exam, Neuter. In addition a prepaid Microchip registration. PLUS an annual booster shot, rabies shot and tag, heartworm test and passed, fecal and preventative deworming. IN ADDITION had a DENTAL, possible extractions and pain and antibotic meds after surgeries. You also receive a trial limited 30 day pet insurance from a third party. In season our rescues have had flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.

We send you home with a copy of all the vet work, adoption paperwork and tips. Our Foster families notes explaining our rescue dogs schedule, habits, socialization skills.

We do not ship or transport our dogs you must drive to the foster home to meet the dog. You must fill out our on line application to schedule a meet and great with the foster dog. We cannot hold more than 2 weeks from notifying you approved to complete the adoption or we require a non refundable deposit to hold the dog a short time longer. We do not require a fenced yard on all of our dogs, it is on a as needed basis. HOWEVER if you don't have a fenced yard we do require you to purchase an exercise pen (>$60 on internet) so that the dog can be safe when outside; SMALL DOGS CAN NOT BE TIED OUT. .

Not all our dogs are totally house trained at the time of adoption. We crate train them, potty pad train them and use exercise pens for outside and work on potty skills. Dogs learn quickly and are pretty far along. But expect some accidents at lst until they know the routine at your place.

Our dogs are fostered in private homes in OH and MI and PA. We are not a shelter you will need an approved application and an appointment to meet our rescue dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mickey, a North Benton Schnauzer (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature) for sale in North Benton, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature) dog from a breeder in North Benton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in North Benton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a North Benton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in North Benton paves the way for another one to be saved.
