Dolly's Story...
Please contact Terry (schultz2444@aol.com) for more information about this pet.

This small short haired gray and white female k itty might be little, but she is a HOOT!  Once you get to know her, you will see that she has a BIG personality and a really hysterical personality!  She is currently at our PetSmart store and boy is she entertaining everyone there!  She is SO beautiful with that blue/gray coloring with white and her funny tail bends all the way up to her head like it is double-jointed!  This silly girl plays and plays and you can easily see that she is only about 8-10 months old!  This beauty was rescued from a Dollar General store in the middle of winter hanging out at the glass doors and NO one would take her home......so FURR stepped in to rescue her!  This kitty would make a wonderful pet and she does tend to gravitate to her caretaker!  Dolly is completely ready to go; spayed, all shots, tested (negative!) for feline aids/leukemia/HW and her adoption fee is $125 to an approved home only in the Charlotte and surrounding area only.

For adoption information or to schedule a visit to the FURR lodge to meet Dolly, please contact Terry at 864-483-2444

About Our Rescue Group...
F.U.R.R. is a small, non-profit organization made up of volunteers that have rescued and helped hundreds of cats that were in dire need and had no other humans to turn to. These include injured cats, sick cats, feral cats, cats whose owners had died without making arrangements for their pets, abandoned cats that were left when their owners moved, homeless mom cats with kittens, homeless kittens whose mom cat had died…the list goes on and on. Basically they are mostly homeless and unwanted cats that would have been euthanized in a shelter, died on the streets from an illness or accident, or continued to reproduce and add to the cat overpopulation problem.

Not only has F.U.R.R. helped the cats, but we've also helped many people in our community, people who have feral or stray cats overpopulation problems. Equally important is that many, many F.U.R.R. rescued kitties have been adopted and are now safe and loved!

Our cats and kittens are adopted to families and individuals in the Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas only. An interview and a completed adoption application are required, and you will have the opportunity to meet the cat or kitten you are interested in. All applications will be carefully screened, and veterinary and personal references will be called.

All F.U.R.R. cats and kittens have been tested for FIV, FeLV, heartworms, and have been treated for parasites (fleas, worms, ear mites). They also receive distemper/combo vaccinations, a 1 year rabies vaccination, and are already spayed or neutered if old enough.

There is an adoption fee of $125 for adults and $150 for kittens, and this is a very small price to pay for a fully vetted cat or kitten, and the love you will receive from your new kitty!

Some of our kitties are residing in foster homes, but most of them live in the F.U.R.R. rescue facility, or as we like to call it 'the kitty lodge', while they are waiting to be adopted. If you would like to meet a particular cat, or would like to meet several of the kitties, please contact Terry at 864-483-2444 to arrange a visit to the kitty lodge.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dolly, a Waxhaw Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Waxhaw, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Waxhaw.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waxhaw already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waxhaw breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waxhaw paves the way for another one to be saved.
