Casey's Story...
Please contact Terry ( for more information about this pet.

Poor little Casey is a short-haired orange tabby kitty. He was captured by a man that runs a barbour shop near Pressly Animal Hospital. He turned in the feral cat to Pressly's and said that he would pay for his surgery if someone would just take him. The kitty was living on a dangerous street and would frequent the barbour shop nosing around for food. The older gentleman (79 yrs old) wanted to save the kitty, but could not keep him. Of course, Pressly's called me and now he belongs to FURR. He was easily tamed after I worked with him about 2 days! He began purring at the sight of me and would head butt me really hard when I would get close to him in his cage! Too funny! However, today, after only having Casey for a few days, an absess broke open in his stomach, evidently something that had been festering for a while, and he was bleeding all over the place! I rushed him to Pressly's and he is in serious condition. The wound looks really bad and it is basically a HUGE hole in his stomach! We must say lots of prayers for this lovely little cat! It was hard for Casey to trust me, but he wanted to so badly! He will be a wonderful companion for someone soon, but he has got to heal up from this horrible wound first! He's such a sweet boy!

Adoption fee of $125 also includes Microchipping! For adoption information or to schedule a visit to the FURR lodge to meet Casey please contact Terry at 864.483.2444.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Casey, a Waxhaw Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Waxhaw, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Waxhaw.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waxhaw already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waxhaw breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waxhaw paves the way for another one to be saved.
