Rooney's Story...
Meet Rooney, a fun-loving young male black lab mix- about 1 year old. Rooney would make a great family dog in a home without cats, but other dogs are fine. He does very well with other dogs of all kinds and enjoys running and playing with them. He is on the smaller side, lower to the ground than most lab mixes. He is crate trained, housetrained, and loves to have his belly rubbed. He likes taking long walks and enjoys the company of everyone, including kids. If you're looking for a playful and affectionate dog, Rooney could be the one for you. If interested, please fill out an application at our site: www.PeisandStrays.com. Rooney is waiting for you! Rooney is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rooney, a Newport Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Newport, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Newport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport paves the way for another one to be saved.
