Peggy Sue's Story...
Meet Peggy Sue, a 6-7 year old spayed female Pug weighing 16 lbs. To make a long story short, her owner went into a nursing home and the person watching Peggy turned her loose. She is very sweet and loving. She likes to sit in your lap, sleep in your bed, go for walks, grunts when she's happy and snores. She is housetrained but can have an accident when you are gone so she needs to be crated. Peggy is good with other dogs and cats. After she potties outside, she "demands" a treat and will tell you so until she is given one. She is missing a few teeth but it's probably due to age as you can tell she has had regular teeth cleaning previously. Must have a fenced in yard as she will run. INSIDE dog.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peggy Sue, a Newburgh Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Newburgh, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in Newburgh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newburgh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newburgh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newburgh paves the way for another one to be saved.
