Spice's Story...
Spice is a sweet and loving cat who is looking for a new home after her older owner's both became too sick to care for their cats. Spice is a laid back girl that enjoys being with her people. Spice is three years old, she is sleek and black with a white spot on her chest. Spice had a chronic gingivitis problem and in August of 2012 had all her teeth removed in hopes of controlling the infections. Luckily it has worked wonders and she has had no more gum issues and is a happy and playful cat. She will likely need canned food the rest of her life(currently likes Friskies Turkey and Giblets Shreds @50 cents and eats one and a half a day). She loves laps.

Spice is now available for viewing and adoption at the Petsmart in Mchenry. Adoption event hours are Saturday and Sunday from 11 til 2 but arrangements can be made during the week by calling Amy at 815-814-3575.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spice, a McHenry Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in McHenry, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in McHenry.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in McHenry already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a McHenry breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in McHenry paves the way for another one to be saved.
