Dixie's Story...

Dixie is a 4 month old, domestic short hair brown and white tabby. Dixie is one out of six who was born to a family who knew from the beginning it was going to be nearly impossible to keep them all. Her caretaker loved and spoiled all six as long as she possibly could, because Dixie has known nothing but love, soft words, play toys and five siblings to tease and play with, her personality is extraordinary. She never reacts to strangers, adores attention, and will steal your heart in a second. This healthy little treasure would complement any household.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Metairie Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Metairie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Metairie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Metairie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Metairie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Metairie paves the way for another one to be saved.
