Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I had a family with children but left unattended quite often. I was hit by a car and suffered a broken leg. When I went through surgery to set my leg and neuter me I had a reaction to the anesthesia and I'm now blind. I can see shadows but that's about it. I'm doing well with clicker training and know quite a few commands.
I'll need a special home that can deal with a blind dog. I'm still very young, about 4 months old and have another 4 weeks for my broken leg to heal. I need lots of kennel rest and that's just hard on a young pup. My vet, Dr. Ruth Wilburn is going to take another x-ray this week of my leg to make sure it's healing properly.
Maybe you've owned a blind dog before or know someone that has....please tell them about me. I have a great personality and really need someone special in my life to care for me and love me. I'll give all my unconditional love to them! Can you become my hero? Chief is counting on you!
Save 1 Pet is a 501 (c) 3 approved charity committed to helping homeless animals. We don't have a facility (shelter) but work out of our homes to foster the animals until they find a forever home.
If you are interested in adopting, we encourage you to fill out our adoption questionnaire: Save1Pet Adoption Questionnaire
Please be advised that for all adoptions, we will conduct reference checks, including veterinary references. Our adoption fee for dogs is $95-$200 which includes spay/neuter, heart worm check, current vaccines, worming and heart worm/flea/tick prevention.
For dog adoptions, we do conduct fence verifications.
When adopting an animal, you will be asked to complete our Adoption Contract.
If you can't adopt, you can still make a difference! Just click on the PayPal Donation button and let our homeless pets know you care enough to make a contribution to their care.
