My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dory(Australian Shepherd/Catahoula) Puppy needs a Mama!

Last day on Death Row in Pell City AL, blind puppy Dory needed a miracle. Wife Val could not bear it, called wonderful volunteer Neva and they met on handoff - Dory was safe!

Dory had spent the last three weeks in a concrete cell with her twin and a pair of smaller puppies, all blind, Absolutely no interest until the last day when all were freed... Dory was SO happy to feel grass under her feet and the wind on her fur. Dory's sister and friends went north to fosters with BDRA and Dory was welcomed here.

Dory arrived happy yet insecure, full of worms and skinny. Dory has been fully vetted and is up-to-date on all shots, spayed and microchipped, and is settling in nicely, spending nights inside and most days outside, weather permitting, where she plays, runs about, hides all of her stuff in her doghouse and ... stands on top of the doghouse!

Dory needs a Mom very badly; likely Dory was separated from her furry Mama too early. Dory is super sweet, very affectionate, happy to give and receive loving yet is not confident as a doggie, though we love on her and work to spend much time with this little sweetie.

Dory appears to see just a tiny bit - shadows and light. Dory also hears some but, does not know where the sound is coming from. However, she has learned "TREAT".

Dory is close to potty trained, though like all puppies needs more frequent walks than adult doggies. Dory is just learning leash walking and is a very smart little girl.

Dory is medium energylevel, medium sized, very athletic, likely born Oct 2011, Heartworm negative (yeah!) andcurrent on all meds, HW and flea treatments. Dory just lacks a Mom, family, pack and/or a Furever Home.

Dory Fun Facts: Dory's expressions are funny to watch, Dory can howl - also funny - and her entire body appears to wiggle when she is approached. Dory loves affection, gives great kisses, enjoys hugging, plays and hides all of her toys when not in use. A Dory on the dog-house roof is a fairly common and amusing sight!

Might Dory be the doggie you are looking for. If you will provide Dory a small place in your heart and home, Dory will provide you a lifetime of loyal love and affection. Email us and soon sweet Dory can be giving you those kisses.
