Jack's Story...
Jack is a giant love bug who is approximately 4 years old. When his owner passed away suddenly a family member stepped in and gave him a good home. However, there are three other dogs in the household and Jack would do better in a home as an only child or with just one other dog. Jack is a great car rider, loves to curl up on the bed and watch tv, enjoys going for walks and is an all-around good Basset. He is food/treat aggressive with other dogs so must be fed in his crate or in a separate room.

All of our dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed and heartworm tested if over 5 months of age. Treatment for heartworms is provided if necessary. Please click on the following link to download our adoption application:

Adoption fee applies.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jack, a Douglasville Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Douglasville, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Douglasville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Douglasville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Douglasville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Douglasville paves the way for another one to be saved.
