Lola's Story...
Lola is the sweetest little girl! It's amazing that before she came to CRT, she was being used as a breeder in a puppy mill. These dogs often live in sad conditions, but whatever her past, Lola has kept a happy-go-lucky attitude and warm spirit. She still has lots of love for people, and can't wait to be somebody's baby!
Lola is truly a wonderful dog. She is playful, but knows how to be calm, quiet (with rarely a bark or whine), petite yet sturdy, and smart without having an attitude. Lola gets along great with all the other dogs in her foster home, both big and small, and loves to play with them or just be a part of the pack. She would love to have at least one other playful dog in her new home. She usually chooses the bigger foster dogs to play with, the ones that are 15lbs vs her 6, but she holds her own quite well. She does like to give chase to the cats and squirrels but it seems all in fun. If she ever caught one, she would probably just wonder why it stopped playing! This is one smart little cookie! She knows how to use the doggy door, and has done very well in the housetraining department. Many puppy mill dogs have trouble learning that they don't have to go right where they are from being kept in cramped quarters, but Lola is smart and young enough that her old behaviors have just about melted away. Being crated is understandably still difficult for Lola to deal with because of her past, so she often doesn't trust people's motives when they give her the 'come' command. She would much rather be out playing or in your lap on the couch. This issue has also caused Lola problems with door darting, and if you are not careful, she will zip past you out the door and it can be difficult to coax her into coming back. With a little effort and some free advice from our resident trainer, though, she'll be running to you on command in no time!
Lola deserves a home with the family she has always dreamed of. If you'd like that family to be yours, please fill out an application to meet Lola today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lola, a Dallas Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Dallas, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Dallas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dallas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dallas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dallas paves the way for another one to be saved.
