Sofie's Story...
Sure, she’s got her supermodel pose on, for her picture, but this girl is no diva. Sofie is a typical, beautiful girl who can make you smile, whether coming quietly to you for a little loving attention or playing on her back with her toy in her paws. Or even while on fence patrol, ‘cause you never know when a varmint will sneak in. As well as her good looks, she’s playful and gets along with other dogs. Her long elegant legs and body with those beautiful ears make her a very regal-looking lady with a beautiful pale coat and mesmerizing topaz eyes!

This is a very shy girl—she was simply born that way. While socialization and basic training has helped build her confidence, Sofie will most likely always be shy around strangers. She loves her own, those she has come to know and trust. She likes to sit quietly with one of her people, but when they’re standing while holding her, she finds the distance between being up in the air and down on the ground somewhat unsettling. She would much rather be in a good friend’s lap or on the floor playing and viewing things from her own level.

Sofie is very bright, easy to train, so anxious to please that she has done well with basic obedience and leash training. Consistent, calm guidance will keep her secure and confident in her human’s ability to handle whatever situation arises for her. She is crate- and pad-trained and would do especially well with access to the outside. The warm sunshine is her friend, just ask her. She does like her crate and feels safe in it, but nights there shouldn’t be too long.

Sofie could be the love of your life with patience and understanding. If you’re that special person who wants to be the love of her life, please fill out an application today so that you can meet her as soon as possible!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sofie, a Dallas Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Dallas, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Dallas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dallas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dallas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dallas paves the way for another one to be saved.
