Sloan's Story...
Sloan is a wonderful non-neutered 4 year old Lab mix. He behaves nicely in kennel and is believed to be house trained. Sloan is a good boy on lead, knows to sit and likes to bounce and play. Sloan really enjoys interacting with people and his favorite activity may be getting a good belly rub...it always makes him smile. We believe Sloan thinks he's still a puppy and seems to have a high energy level and is willing and able to walk and play anytime the volunteers offer. Sloan should be a nice fit for an active household as we bet he's the hiking, biking, swimming, running type. He may be a little overwhelming for very young children. We encourage you to bring the whole household out to meet Sloan, the shelter is now accepting application and, if not claimed, he will be available for adoption March 14th after 6pm.

If you want to apply for this dog click here.
You can then email the application to the Meridian Animal Shelter.

Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged.
All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sloan, a Meridian Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
