My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Howard! I am a 2 year old, male, Shih tzu mix. I was rescued from OC Shelter on February 17th. I had two cherry eyes that needed to be reapired. A cherry eye is a common congenital eye defect in various dog breeds where the gland of the third eyelid known as the nicitating membrane prolapses and becomes visible. This usually keeps pups from being adopted in the shelter because most do not know it is easy to fix with surgery. I am all fixed up now and ready to find my family. I am very friendly and love people. I like to play chase, toys and I am good for my baths. If you would like a spunky, kissable guy like me, come check me out!
Pets are visited by appointment (times are flexible). Please email us at info@thepetrescuecenter.org to arrange a meeting time. This process allows potential adopters to spend adequate time with their prospective pet and prevents long wait times.
All interested parties must fill out an Adoption Application, which will be reviewed to find the best possible match. You can find our application online at: http://www.thepetrescuecenter.org/adoptapet.html. Completed applications can be faxed to 949-768-5759 or emailed to: info@thepetrescuecenter.org
Our adoption fee is $300 for dogs and $150 for cats, and includes spay/neuter, microchip, flea treatment, deworming, regular veterinary check-ups, and current vaccinations. This fee helps to defray the costs of medical care, supplies and boarding while the animals are in our care.
The Pet Rescue Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization that seeks to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome pets from high kill shelters and is temporarily housed inside the Alicia Pet Care Center at 25800 Jeronimo Rd. Suite 100, Mission Viejo, CA 92691.
