Petey's Info...

I am housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Petey's Story...
Petey, a purebred Jack Russell Terrier, and his buddy Max are looking for a new home after their people decided that they didn't need two dogs with two kids. Petey, like any JRT, is a big dog in a little dog's body. He is a bundle of energy and needs a lot of exercise to avoid mischief-making. His favorite thing is playing with a ball, of any size. Although Petey has been around small children and does well, he is most suited for a family with no children or older children, because he doesn't like to compete for attention. And because Jack Russell Terriers were bred to be hunters of small animals, he probably wouldn't do well in a home with cats. Petey and Max are very attached to one another, and we'd like to find a family that is looking for two little guys to call their own, but if the right family came along, we would adopt them out separately.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Petey, a Herndon Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Herndon, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Herndon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Herndon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Herndon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Herndon paves the way for another one to be saved.
